Press release regarding the completion of the project "E-COOL – Creative Education Organized through Outdoor Learning," ID 154207 co-financed by the Human Capital Operational Program 2014–2020, Priority Axis 6 – Education and skills; Thematic Objective 10: Investing in education, training, and vocational training for skills and lifelong learning; Investment Priority 10: Reducing and preventing early school leaving and promoting equal access to good quality early-childhood, primary, and secondary education, including formal, non-formal, and informal learning pathways for reintegrating into education and training; Specific objective 6.3: Reducing early school leaving through integrated prevention measures and ensuring equal opportunities for students belonging to vulnerable groups, with an emphasis on Roma students and students from rural/socio-economically disadvantaged communities; Specific objective 6.6: Improving the skills of teaching staff in pre-university education to promote quality educational services oriented toward students' needs and an inclusive school.
THE HERCULES ASSOCIATION in partnership with SCHOOL NO. 3 BUFTEA and SCHOOL NO. 1 GLINA announces the completion of the project "E-COOL – Creative Education Organized through Outdoor Learning." The project aimed to implement non-formal participatory outdoor educational activities centered on primary and lower-secondary school students to reduce the risk of early school leaving, dropout, illiteracy, and discrimination. Additionally, 36 teaching and support staff members participated in specific training programs to carry out integrated non-formal education activities, aiming to improve the educational offer within the partner schools in Ilfov County.
The project "E-COOL – Creative Education Organized through Outdoor Learning" was implemented between August 3, 2022, and December 31, 2023, and addressed the following target group:
– 346 primary and lower-secondary school students (ISCED 1 level) enrolled in one of the partner schools—School No. 3 Buftea (legal entity), School No. 4 Buftea (affiliated with School No. 3 Buftea), and School No. 1 Glina—who were involved in outdoor non-formal educational activities such as:
- activities to reduce functional illiteracy, promote non-discrimination, and provide guidance for students in terminal years to support school transition;
- clubs in the fields of sports, creative arts, nutrition & hygiene, and science & technology to develop children’s socio-emotional skills;
- financial education and entrepreneurship workshops;
- greening and environmental activities within the two local communities.
– 36 professionals (teaching and support staff) employed at the partner schools mentioned above, who carried out non-formal educational activities with the students from the three partner school units.
Total value of the project is 1,730,323.61 lei, of which non-reimbursable financing is 1.709.256 lei.
